Vendetta release date
Vendetta released in English and Chinese on 31 July 2026. Pre-Rift events, the casual launch events where players open product and build a deck, started on 24 July. Riot lists a French release on 23 October 2026. [1]
Vendetta Legends and rivalries
Riot describes the set as "clashes between former friends, immortal enemies, and members of the same family". Its nine new Legends come in rival pairs from enemy colours, such as Shen and Zed, and Mel and Ambessa. [1]
Each new Legend also has an Overnumbered version with an artist's signature, and 22 champion Overnumbers show rival pairs as two-card artworks. Riot states that rarity rates are averages across the print run, not guarantees for any pack or box. [1]
Vendetta mechanics: Flow, Burn and Empower
Flow appears on spells. If you pay a spell's Flow cost, you can play it from your trash instead of your hand. The spell is then banished, so you get one extra use. [1] [3]
Burn moves cards from the top of a Main Deck into the trash. Some cards trigger when cards are burned. Burning can put Flow cards in your trash, but it also brings you closer to running out of cards. [1] [3]
Empower lets units, gear and legends gain new abilities after they enter play, often after you pay a cost. An Empowered card keeps that status until it leaves the board or is disempowered. [1] [3]
Vendetta also adds Unit-Gear, a card type that counts as both a unit and a gear, and Decrees, a cycle of spells, one for each domain, that strike cards of the opposite domain colour. [1]
These summaries are a starting point. Check the official Vendetta rules update for detailed interactions with older cards. [3]
Vendetta booster box, Showdown Decks and Vault
| Product | Confirmed contents | A useful option when… |
|---|---|---|
| Vendetta booster box (display) | 24 booster packs. Each pack has 14 cards: 7 Commons, 3 Uncommons, 2 foil Rares or better, 1 foil of any rarity and 1 token slot. [2] | You want to open packs and chase the rivalry artwork. |
| Vendetta booster pack | One 14-card booster with the structure above. [2] | You want to try the set before buying a full box. |
| Vendetta Showdown Decks: Zed vs Shen | Two 56-card preconstructed decks (Zed and Shen), two paper playmats, two Vendetta boosters, a rules booklet and two paper deck boxes. [2] | You want two people to play a full matchup straight away. |
| Vendetta Vault | Six Vendetta boosters, 36 basic Runes (6 of each), 3 double-sided full-art tokens and a card storage box. [2] | You want packs together with Runes and storage. |
| Vendetta playmats | 24 × 14 inch neoprene playmats in four designs. [2] | You want a full-size play surface for your deck. |
Check the individual listing before ordering: a loose booster pack, a booster box and a deck product are different purchases.
Which Vendetta product should you start with?
New to Riftbound? The Zed vs Shen Showdown Decks give two complete decks, so you and a friend can learn the game together without building from boosters first.
Enjoy recursion and long games? Flow and Burn work together: Burn fills the trash, and Flow lets you play spells from it. A booster box gives you the widest choice of these cards.
